About this piece
Three large geometric medallions alternate in rust and deep navy along an ivory field. Small stylized plants and rosettes fill the spaces between them, while horizontal geometric motifs separate the panels. A broad repeating border frames the composition. Abbas identifies the rug as Ardabil, estimates its age at 65 to 70 years, and describes its design as very rare.
